Walk into any Pier 1 store and the air is filled with fragrance. That's because our candles are saturated with only the finest, highly concentrated scents. Each hand-poured candle is made of 100% biodegradable paraffin with a lead-free wick made for longer, cleaner burning.
Decorating with Candles
Creating a candlescape is one of the easiest ways to add color or fragrance to the room. Fill a tray with an assortment of candles, pillars and votives in either your single favorite scent or a colorful combination of unscented candles. Add gem mixes or natural touches like seashells or sand. The result is a great addition to the dining table, console or side table.

Flameless LED candles
Designed to give you soft candlelight without any worries, LED candles are now available in more styles than ever. You can now choose LED candles that are embellished, covered with colorful graphics, work on a timer, even LED candles that fill the room with soft, fresh fragrance.
Caring for candles
To prevent uneven burning or dripping, keep wicks trimmed to at least 1/4 inch, and keep candles away from air vents, fans, and drafts.
Do not burn candles for more than one hour per inch of their diameter. For example, never burn a 3-inch-wide candle for more than three consecutive hours.
All candles should be discarded when burned down to a 1/2-inch height.
Candles should not be kept in direct sunlight, as this will fade colors and cause the wax to soften or lose its shape.
To easily remove votive candles from their holders, place them (cooled) in the freezer. When frozen, the wax will pop out. Or, simply put a teaspoon of water in their holders before lighting.
Using candles safely
Keep lit candles away from bedding, shower curtains, and other flammable materials and accessories.
Never leave candles unattended or where children or pets could be injured.
Always extinguish candles before going to bed.
Use flat, non-flammable, heat-resistant candleholders that are big enough to protect surfaces.
Extinguish candles if their flames are higher than 1 1/2 inches.
When candlescaping, keep candles at least 1 inch away from each other so shorter candles will not melt into the sides of taller candles.
Never burn candles without candleholders.
Always clean residue wax from candleholders.
