This policy describes the personal information Pier 1 Imports may collect about you, why we collect it, how we use it, and when we share it with third parties. This policy also describes the choices you can make about how we collect and use your personal information. The phrase "personal information" for purposes of this policy means information collected by us and which we may use to contact you, such as your name, mailing address, email address, telephone number, etc., as well as any financial information such as credit and debit card numbers. This policy applies to personal information collected on pier1.com, from customer service inquiries you make to us, and such information collected by us from you in our stores.

What type of personal information does Pier 1 Imports collect?

Information You Provide – You provide personal information to us in a variety of ways when you interact with Pier 1 Imports, both in stores and online. Some examples are when you:

  • Sign up or request to be placed on our mailing or email lists;
  • Place an order through Pier1.com;
  • Sign up for our Pier 1 Rewards Card;
  • Participate in a survey, sweepstakes, contest or promotion;
  • Make merchandise purchases and returns;

The personal information you provide us may include your name, email and physical addresses, phone numbers, driver's license number, credit and debit card numbers, checking account numbers and birth date. When shipping merchandise, we may collect information you provide us such as the name, address, and phone number of recipients. We may also collect your Social Security Number and other related financial information when applying for, or requesting services related to the Pier 1 Rewards Card.

Information We Obtain From Third Parties - We may receive personal information about you from other sources as well. Examples of these sources are entities that help us correct our records, improve the quality or personalization of our service to you, and help prevent or detect fraud.

Automatically Collected Information – In addition to the above, we receive and store certain types of technical information when you interact with us through our website, emails, and online advertising. For example, we use "cookies" and "web beacons" to customize your shopping experience and measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns. How does Pier 1 Imports use my personal information?

Does Pier 1 Imports share my personal information?

  • Pier 1 Imports Affiliates: We may share the personal information we collect with our affiliate companies within the Pier 1 Imports organization.

What are “Cookies” and “Web Beacons”?

It may take up to 10 business days to process your email request and 6-8 weeks to process your postal mail request, during which period you may continue to receive communications from Pier 1 Imports.
