PIER 1 IMPORTS TO OPEN NEW STORE IN FLUSHING, NY

FORT WORTH, Texas – Pier 1 Imports (NYSE: PIR) is pleased to announce the relocation of its Northern Blvd. location in Flushing, New York. The new 8,000-square-foot store, now located at 191-24 Northern Blvd., opens September 27, 2008. *

Store manager Caroline Kneer will hire or transfer approximately 15 full- and part-time associates. The original 6,400-square-foot store, formerly located at 191-30 Northern Blvd., closed September 12, 2008. Currently, there are approximately 45 Pier 1 Imports stores in New York, with five located in the greater New York City market.

Introducing the Pier 1 Floral Mist Reed Diffuser Benefiting Susan G. Komen for the Cure

An iridescent glass bottle with pink ribbon, filled with Pier 1’s exclusive Floral Mist fragrance. The pink ribbon lapel pin that is attached to the hangtag is a simple way to show your support for the fight against breast cancer.

Pier 1 will donate 25 percent of the purchase price (less tax) to Komen for the Cure to support innovative breast cancer research and outreach programs. Pier 1 will guarantee a minimum donation of $250,000 to Komen in 2008 from the sale of specially marked products.
