February 14th isn’t just for Valentine’s Day this year. In 2010, Chinese New Year happens to fall on the very same day, so why not celebrate the Year of the Tiger for a change? First, clean house. Sweeping away any bad luck from the past year is crucial. Then, decorate like crazy with lots of red and fill your home with flowers (real or faux) to ensure luck & prosperity in the coming year. Hang colorful paper lanterns overhead and create a festive table centerpiece with our fierce Ceramic Dragon.
On February 14th, invite friends and family over for pan-seared Chinese dumplings served on Asian style platters. Refresh guests with steaming cups of Oolong poured from a porcelain teapot. (Or amp things up with a round of warm or chilled sake.) If possible, attend a Chinese New Year’s parade in your area, complete with elaborate floats and firecrackers. Or create your own fireworks with our splashy party straws. Now you’re ready to wish everyone a Gung Hay Fat Choy!
