Once you’ve got your peeps taken care of, you probably have others you’d like to get gifty with. (They say the average Facebook user has 130 friends.) Clients, co-workers, neighbors, and teachers are a few people who might fall into this category.
Or maybe you’d like to thank those who provide you with year-round services (babysitters, housekeepers, gardeners, mailmen, etc.) In either case, we’ve got great gifts for $25 and under that will help you accommodate everyone on your list without breaking the bank:

We all want to give gifts that are welcome and appropriate to the recipient. That said, keep a few general rules in mind when shopping for casual female friends and colleagues. DO: Keep gifts age-appropriate, consider lifestyle choices (such as vegetarianism), and consider the significance of the gift (e.g., expensive jewelry, clothing or perfume would be inappropriate for a co-worker or casual acquaintance.) DON’T: Give self-improvement gifts (diet books, gym equipment, etc.), “surprise” pets or cash, except as a tip.

The same rules of propriety that apply to women are generally good for men too. In addition, there are a few guy-specific guidelines to consider before shopping. DO: Give something he’ll actually use (men tend to prefer functional versus sentimental gifts), consider his interests and hobbies, and remember that perennial man-pleaser, food. DON’T: Give ties, socks or underwear unless he specifically requested them. Period. Other no-no’s include CD’s, DVD’s, video games and power tools (unless you’re 100% sure he doesn’t already have them).

Invite classroom parents over to make gifts for teachers. Have each guest bring one item to help fill a gift basket, or if you’re making several baskets, ask guests to bring items in bulk/sets to be distributed. Splitting the cost with other parents helps everybody save and lets you spend a bit more on great gifts for deserving teachers. Serve wine and cheese or bake fresh Christmas cookies and serve with hot cocoa to add to the fun.
