Step 1:Make the most of what you’ve got. It took plenty of time and effort to get the house merry & bright for the holidays, and those halls didn’t deck themselves. So leave the tree ornamented and the wreaths hung high. Tall decorations like sequined trees move easily from accent piece to centerpiece. Scented holiday candles and room fragrance go a long way toward creating a party mood. And weren’t you smart to choose snow-white dinnerware to mix & match all season long?
Step 2:Add color & sparkle. New Year’s Eve is your time to shine – and the brighter the better. Go glitzy with colorful stemware rimmed in gold. Scatter twinkly tea lights in glittering confetti-colored glass holders about the table. And that aforementioned versatile white dinnerware? Glam it up with napkins in vibrant stripes.
Step 3:Make it a party. Some New Year’s Eve fixtures are simply non-negotiable: an ice bucket or champagne chiller for midnight toasts, plenty of noisemakers and party poppers (the louder, the better). And no matter what the dress code, silly party hats are an absolute must. Party poopers beware!
Whether it’s an intimate gathering or a go-for-broke bash, New Year’s Eve is the perfect opportunity for friends and loved ones to celebrate the year past and look forward to a bright future. So ring out the old, ring in the new. Happy 2010 from Pier 1 to you!
