Whether it's a corner of your bedroom, an expanse of wall or a hallway nook, you don't need a lot of room to create an efficient workspace. It doesn't have to be a tight squeeze on your budget, either. With a few handy tips and some well-designed pieces, you'll be able to boldly go where no home office has gone before.
You multi-task, so why shouldn't your furniture? A desk with built-in bookshelves does the work of two pieces but in half the space, while a counter stool slides neatly out of sight when you're done. Or try a classic folding director's chair. Got more stuff? Think vertical. A high-rise shelf does lots of storage legwork without leaving a huge footprint.
Finally, keep clutter at bay by organizing odds & ends in baskets or other camouflaging containers (like our nifty hollow books). Place a small decorative rug under your desk to help further define the area, use floor screens or bookshelves as room dividers and voilà! You've conquered space. Live long and prosper.
