Crafted from fine New Zealand wool and azo-free dyes using age-old techniques. Handmade in Nepal by a Fair Trade women's cooperative. Each piece is truly a unique work of art, lovingly crafted by hand. Care: Spot clean as needed. Do not machine wash or dry. The Art of Felting: The first step to creating these beautiful felt pieces begins with gathering some of the world's finest sheep wool from New Zealand. Making felted wool is an ages-old, time-consuming process of bonding fabric with fiber. This is a physical job where the artisans scrub, rub, roll and rinse the wool again and again with soapy water. Once the wool is bound into a sheet and the desired thickness is complete, the felt is laid out to dry. The felt wool is cut and reworked into many complex shapes and designs. The many sheets of wool might merge several colors to create patterns and layers. This takes a well-trained, talented artisan and is actual labor of love. The end results are colorful, one-of-a-kind textiles that are stunning to behold.

Returns/Exchanges

You can return most items for store credit redeemable on pier1.com within 30 days of delivery.  The following will apply:

  • Only outbound shipping charges for damaged orders will be refunded. All other shipping charges are non-refundable and will automatically be deducted from the refund credit amount.
  • Clearance merchandise, any items marked “Final Sale” or marked nonreturnable may not be returned/exchanged.
  • Returns/exchanges are not accepted on pillows, comforter sets, or other bedding products.
  • We reserve the right to refuse returns/exchanges of items that are not in as-new condition due to damage or misuse by the customer.
  • Each returned item must be in its original condition and packaging to be accepted.
  • We are not liable for any return packages that may become lost or stolen in transit. Please keep proof of postage and/or return tracking number when shipping back returns.
  • Refunds are generally issued within 5-7 business days after we have processed your return.

Defective Product and Returns due to Our Error

If there are mistakes with your order, or items arrive defective/damaged at the time of receipt, we’ll make it right by sending you replacement parts or accessories, replacing the item or issuing you a refund.  In such an event, there is no return shipping charges.

Delivery Estimates are based on two factors: order processing time and time in transit. In Stock items will be shipped once the item is located, your payment is approved, and the receiving address is verified.
For most orders, this process begins once your online order has been submitted. Depending on when you place your order; the order process might not start until the following business day. Monday-Friday, excluding United States federal holidays. During peak periods you may experience longer than average order processing time.

Returns/Exchanges

You can return most items for a store credit within 30 days of delivery. Return shipping costs apply, and the item must be:

  1. In its original, undamaged condition
  2. Disassembled, if the item was originally delivered disassembled
  3. In its original packaging. If the original packaging is too damaged to be shipped back, you must use a similar sized box as the original or a box no longer than 108 inches.

There are a few items that can’t be returned:

  • Clearance items
  • Gift cards
  • Personalized items
  • Bundled items at discounted rates, e.g. “5 for $25” (unless the entire bundle is returned)
  • Items you have already assembled
  • Items marked “Final Sale” on the sale page
  • Open Box Items


Any outbound shipping charges collected on the order will not be refunded
