We want everyone who visits Pier1.com to feel welcome and to find the experience rewarding, regardless of ability or circumstance.

What we’re doing

Pier 1 adheres to stringent accessibility guidelines (WCAG 2.0 Level AA) and we always design and develop new features with these in mind. Internal tests and periodic accessibility audits are performed by an industry expert to further improve our site.

Features and content provided to Pier1.com by third parties will meet all guidelines as well—this doesn't include user-generated content.

How do we do it?

We're working hard to earn and maintain Level AA accessibility, but there may be some areas that still need improving. Here's what we're doing to make that happen:

• Adding alt text to images that don't have it
• Only embedding text in images when absolutely necessary, and providing that embedded text to assistive technologies
• Updating typography when colors are used that have insufficient contrast
